In a nation where the average person produces 4.4 pounds of waste per day, we should all be doing our part to recycle well. However, there are other ways to lend Mother Earth a helping hand. First and foremost, we can lessen the amount of waste we produce simply by consuming less. There are infinite ways to reduce our consumption; start by purchasing a reusable, stainless steel water bottle and/or travel mug. Americans tossed out 50 billion plastic water bottles just last year. Making the swap from plastic to reusable is a great step reducing our waste.
Another great way to reduce our amount of waste is to reuse products. Shop at thrift stores; go to garage sales, and utilize online swap & shops. You save money and help planet; it’s a win-win!
Lastly, it is almost impossible to go 100% zero waste, so when you do have to throw something out make sure you place it in the correct bin. Click here
